Bottleshare Cooler at MBW
“You can’t please all of the people all of the time.”
John Lydgate
With a group as varied as Butler County Brewing Society, it can be hard to find meeting times that work for everyone. Well not so much hard, as impossible. Work schedules, family commitments, travel needs… all conspire to make it difficult for people to make events, particularly the Monthly Membership Meetings.
Part of what makes those meetings so great is the homebrew bottle share that occurs in the second hour. As a BCBS member for 3+ years now, the opportunity to both taste what others are creating and also get feedback on my own brews is a highlight. Every month I am impressed with both the variety and the quality of what the club produces.
But what if you can’t make the meetings for one of those above mentioned “responsibilities”? Well, we’ve got an option for you! Municipal Brew Works hosts a “Virtual Bottleshare” for us in their walk-in cooler. Operating on a “take-one-leave-one” policy, there is a picnic cooler available to share your home brew with club members as well as take something home to try. Just last night I enjoyed a delicious American IPA from our very own Jon Cherry.
So, with summer schedules getting full, be sure to keep sharing your home brew with the club. Hopefully, you can convince the family to arrange vacation around the monthly meetings, but if not… REMEMBER THE VIRTUAL BOTTLE SHARE!
